The quilting ministry began as a dream that the Lord turned into a reality. In 2004 He healed me of all the brokenness in my heart. Up till that time my emotions had held me captive. I felt unworthy but I knew He had called me to be a minister of His word. I had no idea how I could ever accomplish anything for Him, but He knew.
By this time in my life, I had learned how to be a prayer warrior. When I heard a friend was not well, I began to pray for her. In that prayer time I asked the Lord,” what can I do for her other than pray?” I then saw a beautiful quilt full of purple hearts. I made that first quilt with the Lord’s help of provision and delivered it to my friend. The joy that came over her as she received it filled my heart with joy and love. She felt His love surround her.
I have continued to make quilts and give them away as He leads me. I have also sold several of them. My Joy, however, is in hearing Daddy God say to me “my child will you make a quilt for this one or that one that needs to know how much I love them?” I love to say, “yes I will!” He always gives me a vision for that special someone and even the colors. He knows all the details of each one of our lives.
I didn’t realize at the time this was the beginning of the Lord birthing the prophetic ministry in me. In the beginning, I only saw the quilts. I had no idea until a few years ago that I would be preaching and ministering to so many. Being called to walk in the place He has called me is very humbling. I do not take it lightly. I am grateful for every opportunity He gives me to preach before His people or make a quilt for someone. Today this ministry is not only Him using my eyes to see, my ears to hear and my hands to heal but it is also about bringing His people to and understanding that he loves them so very much. He wants to heal all the broken places in each one’s heart. My book is my testimony of how He walked me through that process and showed me how much He loves me. He didn’t leave me broken.
He raised me up and called me forth to accomplish all that He has called me to do. He used these 500 and more quilts I have made and given to teach me the word and to have compassion for His children. He taught me who I am in Him. He taught me how to bring forth the prophetic gift not only on the quilts but also out of my mouth. He taught me to never fear man again because He is always with me.
Today not only do I love to make quilts, but I also love to preach His word. I love to pray and minister to His people a word from the Lord, I live for Him every day seeking what can I do for Him to bring all glory to His name. This ministry has never been about me or what can I gain. It has been and always will be about being obedient to His will for my life. I am forever His daughter and I was created to bring Him honor and Glory.
May these words inspire you to do all He has called you to do. Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the action of His power that is at work within us, is able to (carry out His purpose and) do superabundantly, far over and above all that we (dare) ask or think (infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts or dreams) To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen!
